Fathers Day

Fathers Day!!!! I had such a fun time planning and preparing for Michael's first Father's Day! We are on a pretty tight budget so I had to do something a little bit different than I would normally do. I was looking for weeks in advance on the web for different DIY fathers day gifts. I found this interesting thing called Pinterest!! LOL I am always on that website looking for new crafts to do or new meals to make. Well I found this cute little craft called 52 Things I Love About You and I decided that I would do that. Well I didn't feel like that was good enough so I also found another idea with a tie. Now Mike has TONS of ties but I just couldnt help myself on this idea. So When Nana came into town we both went out and got all the stuff for these little projects I decided to do. Now I am NOT creative in anyway but I thought I could try these and see how they turn out.
With the 52 Things project I got a deck of cards, d-rings, cardstock, and address labels. I printed out 52 things I love about Mike on the address labels and stuck one on each card. I also printed out a couple of wallet size pictures of us to put on the beginning and end card. I think it turned out pretty good for me!! I was so excited to give it to Michael because I worked pretty hard on it.
With the tie, I just bought a white tie, fabric paint, and fabric pens. My mom came over one day and helped me paint and then stamp Adelaide's feet on the tie. I was going to do hands also but she would not unclench those suckers!! All in all I thought both of these projects turned out pretty good. (:
So Father's Day morning Adelaide woke us up at around 7 45. I fed her and then hurriedly started making Michael's breakfast. I didn't think I would have enough time to get ready, feed Addi, make bfast, bathe Addi, and do Father's Day presents before church. So I made Michael sausage, eggs, and chocolate chip pancakes with Cran-cherry juice. (: While he ate I brought up my presents for him. The bad thing he knew exactly what he was getting. :( Oh well....I still tried. I just can't hide anything from him!! He wore his tie to church and everyone loved it! It just so happened that he was giving a talk that day too! So it was noticed a little bit more. After church we headed straight over to my parents house to celebrate Father's day over there. We had a delicious dinner and fun times! Sadly Addi and I weren't feeling very well so we headed home a little early. But we still had a good day! (:

We also decided to go on a shopping spree for Adelaide. There is a consignment store here called Once Upon A Child and it seriously is the best thing ever! I don't know why I ever shopped anywhere else!! We bought her a bunch of winter clothes for the move to Idaho and a pair of shoes, sunglasses, and a Bumbo seat! I have been wanting a bumbo seat for a while now but they are just too expensive. Well at this store it was only 20 bucks!! So we of course bought it!

So Adelaide has started cooing and partially squeeling! Usually after she is fed she will just talk like crazy! It's so cute!!! I just love her so much! We have her 2 month check-up on Monday which I am not excited about because she will be getting shots this time and I hate that! She is growing up so fast!!!
Well we bought a new truck!!! We traded in the Jeep for a Toyota Tundra. We are very happy with what we got! It has an automatic starter, a nice sound system, the back window rolls down and a bunch of other stuff. It is sooo nice!! We love her so much! (:

Lots of Love

So this past week I had my 6 week check up. I was a bit nervous but everything went great! I even qualified for Mirena, which I am so stoked for. Sorry, no more surprises for awhile guys. I love my baby girl to death and I will have more kids but hopefully not for at least 2 years.
Also, Nana (Grace Godell) came to visit us! Yes, we did name Adelaide Grace after her. She is one of the most kind and gentle people I know. We are so blessed to have her. She flew in on the 5th and was here until yesterday, the 10th. Sadly Mike had to work all week but I got to spend some quality time with her. It was so fun getting to know more about her and Great Dzia Dzia (jaw-jaw). I really wish I could've met him. We went shopping and we ate out alot. It was so nice to have a car and to get out of the house for a week. Adelaide did pretty good most of the days we went out. Although one day she did not wanna be anywhere but home. So that was hard but we still had a good time. We were sad to see Nana go but we had such a good time together.

A couple weeks ago we ran out of Pampers Swaddlers in size 1. But we have Luvs, and a couple of knock off brands. Well we had these ones called Pampers Swaddlers Baby Dry. I have to let everyone know, they are the worst!!! In the past 2 days Adelaide has pooped up her back at least 10 times, not including the two times when I was feeding her and it got all over my hands. It's so gross because her poo is very runny, seedy and yellow; so it stains. I just want everyone to know not to get those diapers. I thought that since it said Swaddlers on it that they would work just as good as the real ones. NO!! They hardly absorb anything too. But, we didn't wanna waste them and decided to just finish them out because we only had 30 in the package. I am happy to say that we only have a few left until we can move into a different diaper. I hope the LUVS aren't as bad. I have had bad experiences with them so we will see.
Along with being pooped on several times these past couple of days Adelaide has been spitting up all over me. Literally. It's not just a little either, its a good bit. Mike jokes around because I will be feeding her and she will start pooping, and then I can feel it all over my hands and then I will burp her over my shoulder and she slides down and then proceeds to puke all down my chest...oh lovely. Oh the joys of motherhood! No, I really love my girl she is amazing but sometimes I just get hit with everything at once. It seems like Mike gets the better end of the deal sometimes.
This was after a bath (:

Well, the time has come....to get rid of our Jeep. I have wanted her for so many years. She has been an amazing car, despite all of her dis-functions. I will miss her greatly! Mike and I have realized that buying our Jeep wasn't the best decision we have made. She needs alot of work and it's getting really expensive. Also we have realized that for some reason she is having trouble going uphill. Now, we can't have that considering that we are moving to Idaho. So we are going to buy a truck. Both mike and I have always wanted a Dodge Ram but we are figuring out that what we want may not be best for Adelaide. :( We have found a really nice one within our price range but we have also found a toyota that is well within our budget and will be really good. It's just not really what we have always wanted. But sacrifices need to be made.... :( So Mike and I are going to Roswell later to test drive this Toyota and if all goes well we will come home with a new(used) car!!!! YAY!!! We have been together for almost two years(counting the dating period) and we have already bought two cars together, this will make three. I'm so glad mike has good credit! LOL
Oh goodness how could I forget to blog about our Anniversary!!!!!! We celebrated our 1 year on the 3! It was so much fun! Mike's mom and step dad bought us a gift certificate to a place called The Chops and said they would watch Addi for us. It is a super duper nice restaurant!! Like they wipe the crumbs off the table for you nice. We had to wear sunday dress and the cheapest on the menu was 13 dollars. I tried Lobster tail for the first time. It was okay...not the best. They had the best steak I have every tasted!! Nothing will EVER compare. LOL After the dinner we decided we had time to kill and went to see Snow White and the Huntsman. That was okay. Definatly not as good as the Avengers that we went and saw the day before. We had such a good anniversary! (:

This was our bread pudding. MHMMMMM!

Graduation (:

This past weekend, memorial weekend, we went to Michigan for Taylor's (Michael's sister) graduation. It was a very last minute kind of thing so we weren't able to make it for the actual graduation. However, we did make it for her open house. We made it a weekend trip.
We were kind of nervous how Adelaide would do on a 13 hour drive up there and on a plane flight back. But, as luck would have it we were blessed with an amazing daughter! She slept almost the whole way to Michigan! She woke up around 4 times and then just went right back to sleep after she ate and was changed. Once we finally made it there I fed her and then she went to sleep and only woke up once that night. I am continually amazed at how awesome she is!

We arrived in Michigan at about 1:30am on Saturday and slept. We didn't want to wake anybody up so we just went right to bed. Adelaide woke up at about 6ish and we didn't really go back to sleep. So at around 7-8ish we went inside and got some breakfast when everyone woke up. They were all so excited to finally meet baby Addi! They all loved on her so much! It was a crazy day though because they had Taylor's open house to get ready for. No one knew we were coming in except for Mike's dad and step-mom. So we had surprised Taylor, Nana and Tia (and everyone else up there too).
Taylor's open house was really cool! We are so proud of her for graduating! She is going to Michigan State University in August to be a vet! She is so smart and we all know that she will go far in life! We love her so much!

Congrats Taylor!!! (:

Mike being silly(:
haha mike took this (:
On Sunday we cooked out and just hung around the house with everyone since we had to leave the next morning. It was so much fun spending the weekend up there! We got to the airport and waited for our flight. Adelaide slept the whole flight until the last 45 minutes. So I fed her and she was very happy and content until she got a full diaper. (: We were glad to be home but missed everyone in Michigan.

AWWW (:

Aunt Taylor (:

Since our Memorial Day was spent traveling I would like to thank all those who died for our freedoms we have today! We are so blessed to live in the country and to enjoy all the freedoms that we have when there are so many around us who don't have what we do. I am blessed to have a husband who is willing to serve his country. I hope we all realize that we are so blessed.

1 Month Already?!

Well my baby girl is officially one month old as of Monday! How crazy is that?! I feel like it was just last week that I had her! Time definitely flies with kids! She is a wonderful baby! I am so blessed. She has started to smile a ton! Her eyes are as blue as ever too. I don't know at what point a baby's eyes change to their color, but I'm starting to think that they won't change. I dont know how she would end up with blue eyes though. Mike has brown and I have green...that does not add up to blue! But she is just a beautiful as ever and changing so much. She already looks so different.
Not much has really happened lately. We did have Adelaide's blessing on Mothers Day, which was amazing! Michael did such a good job and we had a wonderful day. Michael was really sweet and actually bought me a beautiful necklace, a painting and handmade a card! I don't know how I got so lucky! (:
We were so sleepy that day, this is the best I got.

This past week/weekend Michael was gone for the Military. So from Thursday-Sunday I went to my parents house to spend some time with them. I really enjoyed hanging out with them. Since we live with Michael's parents, it was really nice to be with my own family. Adelaide did so well being away from home. Although I do think she contracted a cold from someone over there. :( We were both super excited to see Michael when he got home. I missed him like crazy! The bad thing is that he has annual training in California for 2 weeks at the end of June. I have no idea what I'm gonna do!! He is such a great dad and he is so helpful. I just hope it goes by quickly!
I love this picture so much!

Two Weeks Notice (:

Well, its been about two weeks since the birth of our daughter. Honestly I feel like the time has flown by already! I am feeling sooo much better. I still have a hard time walking around for longer than an hour but I am definitely 100 times better. I love my baby girl so much!!! She is so precious! She is such a chill baby which has been so nice! we definitely have our days but she is so good!
We went to church for the first time yesterday since Adelaide has joined our family. It was really good. She slept through most of it which I was okay with. (: Everyone just loved her, even though I had a few people ask me if it was a boy. It's amazing how much your life changes when you have a baby. Everything that was important to you before has now taken a backseat to this tiny little child. The good thing is, I don't mind that! She is everything to me!
It makes me so grateful to know that families can be together forever. I know that I will be with my family after we die. That is the wonderful thing about the gospel. I am glad that I know that and I am happy with the choices I have made. Michael is an amazing father. He is always there for me and for Adelaide. I can't imagine what it's like leaving everyday for work and being away from me and Addi. I don't like to leave her for more than an hour unless I have to, so for him to do that is really amazing. He supports and comforts me through everything. I am so grateful for him!
Michael and I have our 1 year anniversary coming up this June. I'm not sure what we are going to do. We have a lot to be saving for so we can't really do anything too special. I would really like to take a little weekend trip somewhere but it's not really in the cards for us. So we will probably just go out for a fancy date, probably to Wendy's or something. LOL
Until next time....

Adelaide Grace Godell

Adelaide's birth story:
I had an induction scheduled for sunday the 22nd at 5:30 pm. Well we had to call first to make sure they had a bed for me. So we called and they said they didn't have me scheduled to come in. So, many phone calls later we finally got it all settled and made our way to the hospital at about 6:30. I got into my gown and started to mentally prepare myself to have a baby. I was naturally contracting every 2-3 minutes so they couldn't give me Pitocin right away. So they waited to see if my contractions would space out and when they didn't they gave me something to help them space out a little more. So at about 2 am they gave me pitocin to help me start real labor. Well goodness gracious those were some strong contractions!!!! They were killing me! I thought my pain tolerance was alot higher but evidently not. I received pain medicine to help me sleep at about 4 in the morning. That was nice. (: I didn't get much sleep but enough to gain some energy for what was to come.
The nurses kept checking me but I wasnt making any progress dilation wise. But I was feeling my contractions really strongly. So they gave me an epidural which ended up being a very bad experience for me. The anesthesiologist came in told me what to expect and so I was thinking a bee sting type pain. Well, he says "your gonna feel a pinch and a little burning" so I'm gearing up for it when I feel this painful buzz run down my left leg. It felt like someone tazed my left leg. It hurt so I jumped and he says "stay still please!" Well come to find out I started leaking spinal fluid because he missed. He said that when I jumped he missed and had to re-do the epidural. All this time I'm thinking "ummmm you missed and thats why I jumped stupid!" So I did not like that guy. He re-did the epidural and told me I would get a very specific kind of headache that they wont be able to do anything for. Oh ya...on top of the pain I was already feeling from the contractions I was gonna have a headache! But the epidural started working which was nice.
So a few hours later they broke my water at 2 cm dilated. The midwife broke my water at about ehhh 9:30ish, I think and I started to progress really quickly. Leisha and Cara came up to keep us company for awhile. Well I told one of my nurses that I was feeling a lot of pressure and she checked me. She said I was 4 cm!! So she just pressed the little button for my epidural to help with the pain. But the epidural wasn't working as well as before. I could still feel my contractions to a degree and it was very uncomfortable. My blood pressure started to spike and Adelaide's heart rate dropped dramatically. I rolled over to my left side and the nurse couldn't find her heart. So I got really scared and that made my blood pressure go crazy! They finally found her heart beat and said that I need to stay on my left side. Well the next thing I knew me and Cara were talking and I felt the need to push. So the nurse checks me and I had progressed to a 5. She was surprised that I was feeling so much with the epidural. Come to find out the epidural was not working anymore and I was pretty much going all natural. Well my blood pressure started going crazy again and then like 10 nurses came in and were freaking out. I was in a ton of pain and didn't really know what was going on. The next thing I knew one of the nurses was shoving an oxygen mask on me. Honestly I didn't really know exactly what was happening I just heard a lot of talking and a lot of beeping from the machines. I heard a doctor come in and say that the baby was in distress and they kept turning me from side to side to find her heart beat or to regulate it again. Well Adelaide finally had a regular heart beat and calmed down but I had to continue to wear the oxygen mask. I was still doing it natural and feeling a ton of pain. Cara was wiping a wash cloth on  my face, Leisha was helping me calm down and breathe and Mike was comforting me and saying positive things. I told the nurse that I really needed to push and she said I was at a 7! I almost died! I was hoping that I was there because of all the pressure and pain I was feeling. So in summary, I went from 5cm to 10cm in less than an hour and with no pain medication or an epidural. I pushed  for about an hour and it wasn't really working when Adelaide's heart rate plummeted. So we went through that process again of getting all scared and what not but everything got back to normal. So they gave me a different pain medication to help me calm down. That worked finally and I took a 20 minute break to take a quick nap and regain my strength and energy. About 30 minutes later they came in and told me when I felt the next contraction to push. I pushed for about 2 hours and finally Adelaide Grace came into this world! She was 8 pounds and 2 ounces and 19 inches long. Who knew that I had an 8 pound baby in me!
She is the most amazing thing in the world! I am so blessed! She is a very chill and laid back baby. She never really cries unless she's hungry. I have had a hard time recovering. I found out over the weekend that where my first epidural went in I got a really bad infection. I had to go to the ER and get an MRI to make sure it wasn't abscessed and to get the infection drained out. So that's been pretty painful along with everything else. So it's been so nice to have a baby that is so good. She only wakes up once or twice a night so we get a good bit of sleep. I love her more than anything in this world and it has definitely helped me appreciate my mom more now than ever!

Still No Baby :(

Well, my due date has come and gone! I was due on the 14th and I didn't have anything!!! No contractions...no nothing! Michael and I have been walking and doing everything we can to get her out but she just does not want to.
On the plus side, Cara and the girls have come into town along with Ryan (my oldest brother)!! It's been so fun having them around! I hadn't seen Ryan in a really really long time so that's really nice to see him. Cara and the girls got here last week and are here for a good bit. Tad (Cara's husband) is coming in I think next week. I'm really excited for that! I love having the whole family around, but my poor parents have so many people in their house. I don't know how they do it!
I really have learned so much since I have been married. My relationship with everyone in my family has strengthened so much and really changed. I love them all so much. I am very blessed to have such an awesome family. Especially my parents. We have had our issues in the past as any one does, but they really have shown me how to be patient, loving and kind. I really do love them and all that they have done for me and to teach me.
On a different subject, I had a doctor's appointment this past Friday and I was hoping for good news. Once again I was disappointed. I am still only 1 cm (which isn't anything really) and still only 60% effaced. Since I am now overdue they scheduled a second appointment for me this Tuesday the 17th to give me a NST test, which is just a stress test, and to possibly talk about an induction. The sad thing is they will not even consider inducing me unless I fail the test. :( I am not too happy about that because there is no reason why I can't be induced. So hopefully we can get this baby out this week. That's what we are planning at least.
Sorry I don't have any pictures this week. :( But until next time....have a good one.
